The new Francis M. Leahy School K-8 is being constructed on the location of the former Leahy School and joins the Oliver project as Lawrence’s first new school building in more than two decades. The 1,000-student school complex will combine the Leahy Elementary, Lawlor and Leonard Middle School under one roof. The City of Lawrence has partnered with the Massachusetts School Building Authority, from which partial grant reimbursement will be received. Construction of the new School is ongoing with anticipated occupancy for the start of the academic year in the fall of 2025.
The brickwork on the exterior walls of the courtyard was completed. On the West elevation, the brickwork was started, completing 15% of the work, and will remain ongoing throughout the month.
