Support Services Offered

The Media department provides free support services to the Lawrence Public Schools administrative staff and schools. These services that are listed below are provided to Lawrence Public Schools base on staffing availability. 

 

Video

The Media department offers video recording services. This is mainly for documentation and creating content for the news feed for television and video sharing platforms. If requested the Media department will provide video recording services for other events as schedules allow.

Common types of video recordings

• Video recording for major meetings
• Video recording sports games
• Video recording theatrical performances (by request)
• Video recording classrooms (by request)

The majority of the videos recorded by LPS Media department will only be shown on the Lawrence Public Schools television channels and YouTube Channel. 

If the video is not on the LPS YouTube channel it is probably because the video violates  YouTube copyright infringement and/or requires permission, such as the music being used in the video without permission. If a video was recorded by LPS Media department then it will be stored on the servers on LPS Media. Audio and Visual

The LPS Media department also provides audio and visual support to meetings, events and productions. LPS Media has the capability to offer free audio and video setups for large events, but depending on staffing and availability the department can also recommend vendors to outsource setups the that the Lawrence Public Schools currently uses.

The LPS Media department provides setup for public meetings involving Lawrence Public Schools. These meetings are most commonly hosted at the South Lawrence East Complex where a controlled environment is available to provide smooth setup for live stream, remote access, audio sound system and video for broadcasting and documentation.

 

Photography

LPS Media also provides photography for its district in-house needs. Photos are taken to add-to and support the Lawrence Public Schools website. Some of the events and sports photos that are taken can be seen on the LPS Flickr page.

 

Graphics

The graphic section of the Media department designs and creates graphics for Lawrence Public Schools administrative staffs and it inner department needs. Please allow at least a week of two to allow the media department to free up staffing to be allocated to any graphic projects if it is accepted. It usually takes a week or back and forth of revisions for a project to be finished and finalized.
